Bill T. Jones to Stage Free Dance Classic at the Delacorte Sept. 12-13

New York City Center and the Public Theater will present two free evenings of dance at the Delactorte featuring Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, Lil Buck and one more company to be announced Sept. 12 and 13 at 8 PM.
According to press notes, "free tickets will be distributed, two per person, at The Public’s Delacorte Theater in Central Park on the day of the show and through the virtual ticketing lottery."
Bill T. Jones (Fela!, Spring Awakening) will present D-Man in the Waters (Part I) – his Bessie Award-winning, "celebration of life and the resiliency of the human spirit that embodies loss, hope and triumph."
Other presentations include work from the acclaimed Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, a scene from Bend in the Road conceived and directed by Damian Woetzel and more to be announced at a later date.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
