Downtown performer Bridget Everett, who has been revealing her Tender Moments at Joe's Pub to acclaim, will perform in Boston and Provincetown in anticipation of September's Afterglow Festival.
Everett (At Least It's Pink, Jukebox Jackie, "Sex and the City") is an alum of Provincetown's Afterglow Festival, which celebrates established and under-the-radar artists who push the boundaries of innovative performance art and theatre.
Everett, who will be joined by Matt Ray, will play the American Repertory Theater's Club Oberon in Cambridge, MA, July 10 at 8 PM and Provincetown's Crown and Anchor July 11 at 10:30 PM.
The third-annual Afterglow Festival will take place Sept. 9-15. Participating artists will be announced shortly.
Everett recently completed a run of U.S. dates opening for comedienne Amy Schumer. Everett and the Tender Moments are expected to release an album of original music this fall.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
