Dancers from the forthcoming Broadway Bares fundraiser gather June 19 at the bar Industry in Manhattan to raise funds for the upcoming strip-a-thon, which benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
As previously reported, the 23rd annual edition of Broadway Bares, entitled Broadway Bares 23: United Strips of America, will be presented at Roseland Ballroom June 23 at 9:30 PM and midnight.
The various teams performing June 23 are trying to raise as much money as possible at the June 19 event, which begins at 6 PM.
Broadway leading man Max von Essen, most recently seen in the revival of Evita, told Playbill.com that his team, "Team Nevada," "has put together … amazing silent auction items, [including] a walk on in Rock of Ages (including tickets) and a walk on in Chicago (including tickets)… as well as… a headshot package, dance classes, signed broadway posters, etc." Those interested can bid on the auction items in person or through Ray Sheen, one of the evening's hosts, via Facebook; click here for more information.
Von Essen had previously posted via Twitter, "It's official, I'm doing @BCEFA's #BroadwayBares this year! Be the first to donate to my personal stripathon page!" He later added, "My #broadwaybares fundraising goal of $1000 has been shattered in just a few hours." To donate to the actor's fundraising page, click here.

Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
