The concert has musical direction by Christopher McGovern, musical supervision and arrangements by Ed Windels and a script by Halston and D. Michael Dvorchak. Trisha Henson is stage manager, and Sue Frost is co-producer.
Halston is a spokeswoman and activist for pulmonary fibrosis, along with her husband, former Sirius XM news anchor for "The Howard Stern Show," Ralph Howard, who was diagnosed with the disease in 2008. Over the past three years the concerts have raised over $150,000 for PFF.
All funds go toward The Michael Kuchwara Fund for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Research, Education, and Advocacy in honor of the late Associated Press theatre critic and reporter.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
