In previews at the Neil Simon was All the Way, starring "Breaking Bad" actor Bryan Cranston as Lyndon Johnson. Numbers were down from last week. The box office took in 53% of the possible take, and only 67% of the seats were full. The show will open March 6.
A few shows which often achieve full capacity, but have failed to reach that height for most of 2014, were back in fighting form. Matilda The Musical played to full houses for the first time in weeks, while Wicked and The Lion King missed that height by just a hair's breadth.
The revival of The Glass Menagerie clocked in at a very impressive 99%. This was the final week for the Tennessee Williams revival, which starred Cherry Jones. The well-reviewed play made back its investment some time ago.
In previews, the new musical Rocky collected 59% of its box-office limit and played to 88% full houses over six performances. Mothers and Sons, the new Terrence McNally play starring Tyne Daly, meanwhile, ran to 60% capacity at its single preview last week.
