Broadway Inspirational Voices Will Perform Expect the Great Spring Concert June 2
17 May 2013
Broadway Inspirational Voices will perform their third annual spring concert, Expect the Great, at the First Corinthian Baptist Church June 2 at 7 PM.
Led by Michael McElroy (Big River), Expect the Great will feature performers from Motown, The Lion King, Wicked, Spider-Man, The Book of Mormon, Annie, Kinky Boots and more.
"Expect the Great will include a wide array of inspirational repertoire, including a few original pieces by McElroy," press notes state.
Some proceeds from the concert go to BIV's Educational Outreach Program, in which members participate in outreach programs to provide music to children in need.
Broadway Inspirational Voices was originally founded by McElroy in 1994 as the Broadway Gospel Choir and in 1999 was reincarnated to its current form. In addition to numerous concerts, the group has performed on "The Rosie O’Donnell Christmas Special," Broadway Sings Elton John, The Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation Benefit, and The 2000 Tony Awards. The Broadway Inspirational Voices second album "Great Joy: A Gospel Christmas" was released on Sh-K-Boom Records in 2003 and received a Grammy Award nomination.

Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
