Broadway Talent Swims to The Little Mermaid at Sharon Playhouse

Jennifer Werner (The Book of Mormon) will direct and choreograph Bernard Dotson (Finian’s Rainbow, Chicago, Ragtime) and more in Disney's The Little Mermaid at the Sharon Playhouse (Sharon, CT) Aug. 13-24.
Along with Dotson, Sharon Playhouse’s The Little Mermaid will star Klea Blackhurst (Goodspeed’s Hello, Dolly!) as Ursula and Melody Madarasz as Ariel. Additional casting includes David Fanning, Stephen Eckelmann, Kenny Francouer, Christopher Kennan, Tyler Altomari, Elijah Stone, Nikhil Saboo, Josh Zacher, Gabbie Fried, Taylor Johnson, Alan J. Kelly, Peter Kiewra, Lauren Krauss, Delaney Parker, AnnMarie Powers, Ian Shain, Sarah Treanor, Dominique Altomari, Ellis Bristow, Serafina Fauci, Anna Goldstein, Noah Goldstein, Harrison Humphrey, Alexa Lamberti, Nick Lamberti, Mackenzie Ongley, Elizabeth Barnes Schwartz, Anna Spendley and Daniel Warman.
The production has scenic design by Caleb Levengood, costume design by Michelle Eden Humphrey, lighting design by Chris Dallos and sound design by Brad Berridge.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
