Broadway's Rock of Ages Celebrates Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium Feb. 2

The Tony Award-nominated musical Rock of Ages celebrates Super Bowl XLVIII with a performance at the official NFL Tailgate Party outside of MetLife Stadium on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 2.
Cast members perform from 3:15-3:45 PM at Fan Plaza outside the stadium (tailgate for general ticketholders) and 5:10-5:40 PM on the Grandstand Mainstage (NFL's official VIP tailgate party).
The musical also performed on the Roman Numerals Stage of "Super Bowl Boulevard - Engineered by GMC" in Times Square Jan. 30.
Rock of Ages was picked by the National Football League (NFL) for the Times Square performance, held at 43rd Street and Broadway, and the Tailgate Party, held hours before kickoff at the Grandstand at Meadowlands Racetrack and Game Day Fan Plaza outside of MetLife.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
