According to press materials, the show takes audiences on a journey from Harlem's hot nights at The Savoy, where dances such as the Lindy, Foxtrot and Charleston were born, to the Latin Quarter where the Cha-Cha, Rumba and Salsa steamed up the stage, incorporating those forms as well as tango, Samba, Mambo, Quickstep, and Swing.
The show 's artistic director and choreographer is Jason Gilkison, a former World Champion Latin and Ballroom dancer. Burn the Floor is produced by The Theatre of Comedy and Harley Medcalf.
