"Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade," which features a performance from the cast of Broadway's Newsies, airs on ABC Dec. 25 beginning at 10 AM ET; check local listings.
Hosts Nick Cannon and Mario Lopez, along with co-host Maria Menounos, lead the two-hour telecast. Corey Cott and the cast of Newsies offer a performance of “Carrying the Banner."
The program also features special appearances by Sarah Hyland, Nolan Gould and Aubrey Emmons-Anderson from ABC’s "Modern Family"; actor Patrick Warburton; Olympic Gold Medal-winning gymnast Gabrielle Douglas; and Daytime TV's Sophia Grace & Rosie. Travel expert and television personality Samantha Brown will check in throughout the broadcast.
TV watchers can also expect to enjoy performances by country/pop supergroup Lady Antebellum, Backstreet Boys, acoustic queen Colbie Caillat, country superstar Brad Paisley, musician/actor Ross Lynch, Christian rock chart-topper TobyMac, “American Idol” Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips and gospel legend Yolanda Adams.
The telecast also includes a special salute to our Armed Forces and Veterans, including a star-spangled celebration when the United States Marine Corps West Coast Composite Band marches down Main Street, U.S.A., led by Drum Major Gunnery Sergeant Jesse Barta.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
