Productions in the Robert S. Marx Theatre include Jeffrey Hatcher's Sherlock Holmes and the Adventure of the Suicide Club, directed by KJ Sanchez (Sept. 6-Oct. 4), followed by the premiere of Adkins' Safe House, about a free African-American family in antebellum Kentucky who give refuge to slaves as part of the Underground Railroad, directed by Timothy Douglas (Oct. 18-Nov. 15).
Michael Even Haney will stage the holiday classic A Christmas Carol (Nov. 26-Dec. 28), and original Broadway cast member Jason Edwards will direct and star in Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash (Jan. 17-Feb. 15, 2015).
Playhouse artistic director Blake Robison will direct Rick Elice's play-with-music Peter and the Starcatcher, which explores the creation of the boy who wouldn't grow up (March 7-April 4); and Haney will stage Christopher Durang's Chehkov-inspired comedy Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike (April 25-May 23).
The Thompson Shelterhouse Season will include Jacques Lamarre's stage adaptation of I Loved, I Lost, I Made Spaghetti, directed by Rob Ruggiero (Sept. 27-Oct. 6), and Janet Yates Vogt and Mark Friedman's Tenderly: The Rosemary Clooney Musical will follow under the direction of Blake Robison (Nov. 15-Dec. 28).
The season will close with Annie Baker's Off-Broadway comedy Circle Mirror Transformation, directed by Wendy C. Goldberg (May 9-June 7).
