Claire Danes Named Hasty Pudding Theatricals' Woman of the Year
13 Feb 2012
Stage and screen actress Claire Danes has been named the 2012 Woman of the Year by the Hasty Pudding Theatricals of Harvard University.
Danes was honored alongside actor Jason Segel, who received the Hasty Pudding Man of the Year award. The awards are given annually to "accomplished actors whose work has made an indelible mark on the world of entertainment, in both drama and comedy."
Danes, who was seen on Broadway in George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion, stars in the Showtime series "Homeland," for which she recently received the 2012 Golden Globe Award—her third Globe win. Her other film and television credits include "Temple Grandin," "My So Called Life," "Shopgirl," "Stage Beauty" and Baz Luhrman’s "William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet," among others.
