The musical, according to press notes, "tells the story of a young sailor named Alyosha, his shipmates and his family, all of them entangled in the tragic events of Russia’s 1905 revolution. It is a tale of everyday people battling oppression. In their passionate struggle, Alyosha and his friends and loved ones embody the resilience of the human spirit."
Micah Young is the music director.
The production has been developed in association with Algonquin Arts Theatre, William Whitefield, executive director.
The York Theatre Company Theatre at Saint Peter’s is located at 54th Street, east of Lexington Avenue. Admission is free; visit yorktheatre.org.
