Based on the recent Broadway revival, the evening will benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation UK, which grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.
Godspell was last seen in the West End in 1972 at Wyndham’s Theatre.
The concert will feature a West End cast plus special guests, a hand-picked band and a 32-strong choir led by members of Maida Vale Singers and American Musical Theatre Academy. Kenneth Avery Clark will direct.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have been granted the rights to Godspell for this very special concert in aid of Make-A-Wish Foundation UK – a show I am very fond of and excited to be producing. It’s been too long since its last performance in the West End, and I’m delighted to be bringing it back!” said Russell Scott, producer and musical director, in a statement.
