"Brendan's been in America more than five years now, and he's found living in Boston isn't much different than in Ireland," read show notes. "On the verge of gaining citizenship, Brendan's life goes topsy-turvy with the arrival of a letter from home. Everything he tried to forget is suddenly front and center again, making him realize he hasn't fully broken free of the old Irish sod. Now he's trying to clean up old memories while also making new ones."
The work by Irish-born Huntington Playwriting Fellow Ronan Noone was developed as part of Huntington's 2005 Breaking Ground Festival. Noone's The Atheist just played at Huntington in September with Campbell Scott in the lead. Other works include The Lepers of Baile Baiste and The Blowin of Baile Gall.
The design team for Brendan includes Alexander Dodge (scenic), Mariann Verheyen (costume), Jeff Croiter (lighting) and Fitz Patton (sound). Eileen Ryan Kelly serves as production stage manager with Kelly Beaulieu as stage manager.
