Tony Award-winning producer Stuart Thompson will bring a revival, Broadway's fifth, of Tennessee Williams Cat On a Hot Tin Roof to New York, according to the New York Times.
As previously reported, "Avengers" star and Academy Award-nominated "Hurt Locker" actor Jeremy Renner had revealed that he was considering starring as Brick in a Broadway run of Cat On a Hot Tin Roof along with Scarlett Johansson (A View from the Bridge) as Maggie.
The Times indicates that Johansson's casting as Maggie is mostly a done deal; however actor Chris Pine ("Star Trek") is now under strong consideration for the role of Brick.
Thompson also produced the revival of A View From the Bridge, which featured Johansson in a Tony-winning performance as Catherine.
A director and dates of production have not been announced.
Cat On a Hot Tin Roof was last revived in 2008 with an all-African American cast led by Terrence Howard and Anika Noni Rose. A 2003 revival starred Jason Patric and Ashley Judd.
