Dane Cook Will Join Richard Kind, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Gary Beach, Roger Bart in Hollywood Bowl Producers

Dane Cook has joined the cast of The Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of the Tony-winning musical The Producers, which will be directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman, who handled those same duties for the original Broadway production. Performances are scheduled for July 27-29.
Comedian Cook will play Franz Liebkind. Cook was recently seen guest starring on "Louie" opposite Louie C.K. He will next topline the upcoming NBC series, "Next Caller." Cook is well known for his appearances on Comedy Central and HBO specials, and for his successful comedy albums. His film credits include starring roles in "My Best Friend’s Girl" opposite Kate Hudson, "Dan In Real Life" opposite Steve Carell and "Mr. Brooks" opposite Kevin Costner.
Cook joins the previously announced Richard Kind as Max Bialystock and Jesse Tyler Ferguson ("Modern Family") as Leo Bloom. They will be joined by Rebecca Romijn, Tony winner Gary Beach and Tony winner Roger Bart as, respectively, Ulla, Roger De Bris and Carmen Ghia. Beach and Bart created those roles on Broadway; in fact, Beach won a Tony Award for his performance.
The creative team will also include musical director Kevin Stites.
Based on Brooks’ Oscar-winning 1968 film, the musical features a score by Mel Brooks and a book by Brooks and Thomas Meehan. The Broadway production won a record-breaking 12 Tony Awards.
"From the brilliantly comedic mind of Mel Brooks comes this insanely funny adventure – a down-on-his-luck Broadway producer and his mild-mannered accountant concoct a get-rich scheme to bilk their investors out of millions by producing the most notorious flop in history," according to press notes.
