David Elder, Patrick Cassidy, Dee Hoty, Elizabeth Stanley and More Cast in Pittsburgh CLO Summer Season

Pittsburgh CLO has announced initial casting for its 2014 summer season, which will feature stage stars David Elder, Patrick Cassidy, Dee Hoty, Elizabeth Stanley and more.

Elder (42nd Street; Kiss Me, Kate; Titanic; Once Upon a Mattress; Beauty and the Beast; Damn Yankees; Guys and Dolls) will star as Don Lockwood in Singin' in the Rain, which will kick off the season May 30-June 8. He will be joined by Mary Michael Patterson (The Phantom of the Opera) as Kathy Selden and Cary Tedder (Big Fish) as Cosmo Brown.

Following Singin' in the Rain will be Legally Blonde June 13-22. Kathleen Monteleone (Hands on a Hardbody) will star as Elle Woods with Matthew Scott (Sondheim on Sondheim, A Catered Affair) as Emmett and Sarrah Strimel (The Producers) as Brooke Taylor-Windham.

Cassidy and Hoty will co-star as Reverend Shaw Moore and Vi Moore, respectively, in Footloose from June 24-29. Hoty received a Tony Award nomination for her portrayal of Vi Moore on Broadway. Billy Hartung, who was also seen in the Broadway production, will play Cowboy Bob with 12 Pittsburgh CLO Academy students and a host of Pittsburgh CLO alumni rounding out the cast.

Stanley (Million Dollar Quartet, Xanadu, Cry Baby and Company) will star as Gizabella in Cats (July 18-27) and as the Lady of the Lake in Monty Python's Spamalot (July 29-Aug. 3). Ken Prymus will reprise his performance as Old Deuteronomy in Cats. Tony nominee Tom Hewitt will play King Arthur with Robert Creighton (The Mystery of Edwin Drood) as Patsy in Spamalot.

Additionally, the national tour of Evita, starring Caroline Bowman, Josh Young and Sean MacLaughlin, will stop at Pittsburgh CLO July 8-13.
