Elf Will Play Holiday Tour; Chicago, Miami, Baltimore and More Among Tour Cities

NETworks Presentations, LLC announced July 16 that the Broadway musical Elf, based on the film of the same name, will offer a holiday tour around the country beginning in November.

The musical, which has played two Broadway engagements, is currently scheduled to perform in the following cities during the 2013-14 holiday season:

Baltimore, MD – Lyric Opera House
Chicago, IL – Cadillac Palace Theatre
Clearwater, FL – Ruth Eckerd Hall
Detroit, MI – Detroit Opera House
Knoxville, TN – Tennessee Theatre
Miami, FL – Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County
Omaha, NE – Orpheum Theater
Owensboro, KY – RiverPark Center
Peoria, IL – Peoria Civic Center
Pittsburgh, PA – Benedum Center for the Performing Arts
Raleigh, NC – Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts
St. Louis, MO – Fabulous Fox Theatre
Washington, DC – The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
Waterbury, CT – Palace Theater

Elf features songs by Tony Award nominees Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin with a book by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin.

The production will feature direction by Sam Scalamoni and choreography by Connor Gallagher.



Casting will be announced at a later date.

The musical, according to press notes, "is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy’s enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas."
