Emma Hunton, Drew Gasparini, Molly Hager and More Will Join Composer Zack Zadek at the Highline Ballroom
10 Oct 2013
Emma Hunton (Spring Awakening, Next to Normal), singer-songwriter Drew Gasparini ("Smash") and Molly Hager (Fat Camp) will join musical theatre writer Zack Zadek in a concert of his music Nov. 11 at the Highline Ballroom.
Directed by Hunter Bird with musical direction by Benjamin Rauhala, the 8 PM concert, The Music of Zack Zadek, promises "a mix of musical theatre, pop, dance, as well as selections from Zadek's full-length musicals 6 (New York Musical Theatre Festival 2012) and The Crazy Ones (NYMF Reading Series 2013)."
Zadek will be backed by a full band, and additional Broadway guests will be announced.
"I'm incredibly excited to be playing such a truly exciting venue," said composer Zadek in a statement. "What I'm really hoping for this concert is to pair some interesting character stories with the kinds of music that moves and inspires me, be it electronic house music or straight up piano rock. Also, the talent of the people who are coming on board is just such an exciting combination."
Zadek's work has been heard at Joe's Pub, (le) Poisson Rouge, 54 Below, Galapagos Art Space and as part of In The Valley: The Songs of Zack Zadek at the Laurie Beechman Theatre.

Deaf West’s production of SPRING AWAKENING floored the critics when it premiered in California, prompting the Los Angeles Times to write, "It's hard to enumerate all the ways in which Deaf West's SPRING AWAKENING is so very, very good." Now this unapologetically brilliant new production is coming to New York.
