The Libra Theater Company will present Monstersongs, a new piece that combines a live rock concept album and a graphic novel — from the point of view of misunderstood monsters — Oct. 20 at (le) Poisson Rouge.

Featuring a score by composer-lyricist Rob Rokicki, additional lyrics by Joe Iconis (The Black Suits) and illustrations by Dave O'Neill (Shankman & O'Neill children's book series), Monstersongs will begin at 9:30 PM.

Directed by MK Lawson, performers include Natalie Daradich, Katrina Rose Dideriksen (Hairspray), Daniel Everidge (Grease), Bethany Fagan, Amanda Flynn, Kenny Francoeur, Molly Hager (Fat Camp), F. Michael Haynie (Wicked), Drew B. James, Lauren Marcus, Megan Mekjian, Kathleen Elizabeth Monteleone (Hands on a Hardbody), Jeremy Morse, Luca Padovan (Newsies), Rokicki, Victoria Weinberg and Jason "SweetTooth" Williams.

Rokicki is the composer-lyricist for Love, NY and Strange Tails with collaborator Michael Ruby. Other shows include Relativity (also with Ruby), Samson's Fire and Martha and ME.
