The Hello, Dolly! star will be joined by Tony Award nominee Justin Vivian Bond ( Kiki & Herb) for the 8 PM evening that coincides with the 50th anniversary of Jerry Herman's Tony-winning musical Hello, Dolly! on Broadway. It will also take place one week prior to Channing's 93rd birthday.
The event, which will include celebrity tributes, is produced by Daniel Nardicio. Bond will also offer "love songs for Carol" prior to their conversation.
Eight video questions will be chosen and screened live during the event. Fans may submit their video questions (one minute or less) to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Earlier this summer Channing and Bond were part of a special event on Fire Island, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes: An Intimate Evening with Carol Channing and Justin Vivian Bond, which Nardicio also produced.
In addition to her 1964 Tony for playing Dolly Levi in Hello, Dolly!, Channing received a Special Tony in 1968 and a Lifetime Achievement Tony in 1995. Her other major Broadway credit is creating the role of golddigger Lorelei Lee in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. She would sing the character's signature songs "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" and "A Little Girl From Little Rock" for the next 60 years in nightclubs, concerts and on TV. She is also the subject of the documentary film " Carol Channing: Larger Than Life."
