Award-winning actor Frank Langella will star in the drama "Captain Fantastic," Deadline.com reports.
Matt Ross will direct the film, which co-stars Academy Award nominee Viggo Mortensen ("Eastern Promises," "The Lord of the Rings").
The film follows an idealistic father who tries to assimilate back into society after living off the grid for a decade in the Pacific Northwest with his children.
Langella is a three-time Tony Award winner for Seascape, Fortune's Fool and Frost/Nixon. He has also performed onstage in Dracula, Match and Man and Boy. The Academy Award nominee's film credits include "Frost Nixon," "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps," "Good Night, and Good Luck" and "Diary of a Mad Housewife."
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
