Frank Wildhorn and Friends, with Jane Monheit and Clint Holmes, Will Play Café Carlyle
09 Jan 2014
The Café Carlyle will present the debut of Frank Wildhorn and Friends with Jane Monheit and Clint Holmes.
The six-performance run begins Jan. 28 and continues through Feb. 1.
Celebrating the career of Grammy and Tony-nominated composer, as well as the release of his new album "Frank Wildhorn & Friends: Live in Las Vegas," the event will feature Monheit and Holmes performing Wildhorn's songs.
They will be backed by a band including Wildhorn on piano, Julia Adamy on bass, David Mann on woodwinds and Clint de Ganon on drums.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
