Hunter Foster and Rick Crom's satiric musical treatment of the criminal lives of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow has a cast — and a new title — for a new Atlanta-area production under the direction of Broadway's Lonny Price.

Formerly known as Bonnie & Clyde: A Folktale, the show's run at Aurora Theatre in Lawrenceville, GA, will be under the title Clyde 'n Bonnie: A Folktale. It begins performances March 15, for a run to April 8.

The musical has a book by Foster (Summer of '42, Signature Theatre's The Hollow) and music and lyrics by Crom (NEWSical the Musical). As actors, Foster and Crom appeared together in Broadway's Urinetown. Foster is a Tony Award nominee as Best Actor in a Musical for Little Shop of Horrors.

The title outlaws in the musical, which has been revised since it was first seen in 2009 at the NYMF/New York Musical Theatre Festival, are played by resident performers JC Long and Laura Floyd. The cast also includes Karen Howell as Martha; Bart Hansard as J Edgar Hoover; Bryant Smith as Buck Barrow; Caitlin Smith as Blanche Barrow; Tony Larkin as Ray Hamilton; Steve Hudson as Anderson/ Uncle Floyd; Googie Uterhardt as Ted Hinton; Greg Bosworth as Ennis Butz; Rachel Miller as Emma Parker; Jennifer Smiles as Ensemble; Corey Bradberry as Ensemble; and Kevin Dougherty as Ensemble.

Ann-Carol Pence is music director. Josh Rhodes, a busy regional choreographer with Broadway dancing credits, is the choreographer. Price is the Broadway actor and director who directed 110 in the Shade, Urban Cowboy and A Class Act on Broadway, and the filmed concerts Candide, Camelot, Company, Sweeney Todd and Sondhem: The Birthday Concert.

The creative team includes Phil Male (set design), Bradley Bergeron (lighting design), Joanna Schmink (costume design), Bobby Johnston (sound design), Monty Schuth (wig design), EB Hooyer (props design), Britt Hultgren Ramroop (production manager), James M. Helms (technical director) and Katie Pelkey (stage manager).

According to Aurora notes, "The musical is set in a quaint southern town, where each year the townsfolk pay homage to their favorite anti-heroes with a historically dubious 'good ol' musical about the bad ol' days.' America's most romantic gangsters outwit and outrun a relentless, larger-than-life J. Edgar Hoover to the delight of the poor and downtrodden. As their relationship blossoms from 'strictly business' to a passionate romance, their adventures are full of madcap mayhem with the Barrow gang doing anything and everything to stay one step ahead of the law. Much like the infamous real-life story, the play ends with a bang."

Aurora's producing artistic director is Anthony Rodriguez.
