An all-star line-up that includes Gavin Creel (currently in the West End in The Book of Mormon), Scarlett Strallen (A Chorus Line), Michael Xavier (soon to play Captain von Trapp in The Sound of Music at the Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park), Paul Baker (Olivier Award winner for the original Taboo), Kara Tointon (Relatively Speaking) and Spandau Ballet's Gary Kemp are to feature in Collaborations, a one-night showcase of the songs of Elliot Davis at London's St. James Theatre Studio, taking place Sept. 22.
Davis was Olivier-nominated this year for Loserville, co-written with James Bourne, and was also represented last year in London by Soho Cinders, written with George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. Other collaborators whose songs will be heard in the evening include 10cc's Graham Gouldman, Sam Kenyon and Stephen Clark.
The company will also include Julie Atherton, Cassie Compton, James Rhodes, Caroline Sheen, Jos Slovick and Carley Stenson.
It is produced by Paulden Hall Productions in association with SimG Productions.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
