Georgia Stitt, Ken Davenport and Cesar Rocha Will Discover the Next Big Star in NYC
15 May 2014
Songwriter and music director Georgia Stitt, producer Ken Davenport and casting director Cesar Rocha will judge BroadwaySpotted's Next Big Star competition finalists, who will sing live May 22 at the Davenport Theatre in New York City.
After a national online search, votes have been tallied, and the top 10 finalists have been announced. They include Maggie Bera, Sara Glancy, Sean Green Jr., Emma Hearn, Frank L. Humphrey III, Devin Lewis, Jordan McCaskill, Tyler McKenzie, Ben Walker and Hannah Zazzaro.
The winner, determined by a panel of judges and popular audience vote, will receive a $500 grand prize and more.
Sheri Sanders ("Rock The Audition") will host the evening, which will begin at 7 PM and be judged by Tony Award-winning producer Davenport (Kinky Boots, Godspell), casting director Rocha (C.S.A, Telsey + Company), composer-lyricist Stitt (This Ordinary Thursday) and NYC voice teacher Robert Sussuma.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
