Laura Kepley stages the play about an out-of-work cashier, Margie Walsh, who makes an unlikely move in an attempt to secure a better life for her disabled daughter. Hodge (Dinner With Friends, Bright Ideas) stars as Walsh, with MacDonald (Mamma Mia!, Coram Boy) as her old flame, Mike.
Good People will officially open March 27 and continue through April 14.
According to the Alliance, "Welcome to Southie, a Boston neighborhood where a night on the town means a few rounds of bingo… where this month's paycheck covers last month’s bills… and where Margie Walsh has just been let go from yet another job. Facing eviction and scrambling to catch a break, Margie thinks an old fling who has made it out of Southie might be her ticket to a fresh new start. But is this apparently self-made man secure enough to face his humble beginnings? Margie is about to risk what little she has left to find out."
The cast also features Tony Award nominee Denny Dillon (My One & Only) as Dottie, Elizabeth Rich (Rx) as Jean, Patrick Halley (Of Mice and Men) as Stevie and Zoey Martinson (365 Days/365 Plays) as Kate.
The CPH creative team includes Mimi Lien (scenic design), Michael Lincoln (lighting design), Jessica Pabst (costume design), Thom Jones (voice and speech direction) and James C. Swonger (sound design).
