Guthrie Theater's Anytown Will Feature Music of Bruce Springsteen; Casting Announced

The Guthrie Theater has announced casting for the Shapiro & Smith Dance production of Anytown, which will be presented in the Dowling Studio June 21-24.
Directed and choreographed by Danial Shapiro and Joanie Smith, the production features the music of singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band members Patti Scialfa and Soozie Tyrell.
The cast will comprise local dance artists Maggie Bergeron, Jose Bueno, Carl Flink, Emilie Plauché Flink, Megan McClellan, Scott Mettille, Kari Mosel, Eddie Oroyan, Justin Reiter and Laura Selle Virtucio.
Anytown, according to press notes, "follows three families whose lives are entangled in a web of desire and need, and crafts a seamless dialogue between music and movement. An exceptional artistic collaboration pairing choreography with popular hit songs, this dance theater piece uses music and movement as a tool for poignant storytelling to address the concerns of today’s middle and working classes."
