Laura Benanti, who won a Tony Award for her performance in the most recent Broadway revival of Gypsy, will be seen in the upcoming season of ABC's "Nashville."
Benanti, according to Deadline.com, will play up-and-coming country star Sadie Stone in the country music drama. In her multi-episode arc Benanti's character will befriend Rayna (Connie Britton).
In addition to her numerous Broadway roles, Benanti has been seen on screen in "The Sound Of Music Live!," "Go On," "The Playboy Club," "Starved," "Nurse Jackie," "Royal Pains," "The Big C" and "Law & Order: SVU."
The "Nashville" season premiere is scheduled for Sept. 24 on ABC at 10 PM ET.
