Hinton Battle Will Direct What We Do for Love Or Other Desperate Measures; Casting Announced

Dorothy Marcic's new musical What We Do For Love Or Other Desperate Measures will play six performances at the Upstairs Theater at the Bleeker Street Theater beginning June 13 as part of the 4th annual Planet Connections Festivity.
Directed and choreographed by Tony winner Hinton Battle, the cast will comprise Gilbert Bailey, Natalie Hill, Simon Pearl, Morgan Reed, Carla Stewart and Ryan Williams.
The production also features dramaturgy by Kenneth Ferrone and musical direction by Jon Balcourt.
What We Do For Love Or Other Desperate Measures is described as a "non-stop electrifying, fast-paced musical about relationships, looked at through nostalgic Top-40 hit songs of the past four decades. A company of six takes audiences on a journey from high school through adulthood tracing the paths that each friend eventually follows." The musical features such songs as "Hooked on a Feeling," "Wedding Bell Blues" and "Don't Fall in Love with a Dreamer."
Show times are June 13 at 7 PM, June 16 at 1 PM, June 19 at 4 PM, June 22 at 7:30 PM, June 23 at 10 PM and June 24 at 1:30 PM.
