Hugh Jackman Shaves It Off in On-Set Instagram Post from "Peter Pan" Film
11 Jun 2014
In a new Instagram post, Tony Award winner Hugh Jackman revealed that he has shaved off his crop of dark hair to take on the role of Blackbeard in the new Warner Bros. film "Pan."
The film, which is slated for a July 17, 2015, release, tells the story of how a young orphan boy became Peter Pan. It will also feature Garrett Hedlund ("Inside Llewyn Davis," "On the Road") as Hook, Levi Miller ("Terra Nova") as Peter and Rooney Mara ("The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," "The Social Network") as Tiger Lily. The film is directed by Joe Wright.
Jackman was just seen earlier this week looking dapper with a full beard (and full head of hair) as the host of the 68th Annual Tony Awards.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
