Real-life husband and wife actors Juliet Mills and Maxwell Caulfield star in a reading of Arthur Kopit's 1962 play, Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Mama’s Hung You In The Closet and I’m Feelin’ So Sad, April 26 in Greenwich, CT.
The 7:30 PM reading, being held at the Bruce Museum of Arts and Science, benefits The American Heyday Theatre Company, a fledgling regional theatre based in Greenwich.
Bruce Museum of Arts and Science is located at 1 Museum Drive in Greenwich, CT. Tickets, priced at $80, can be obtained by clicking here.
The American Heyday Theatre Company "endeavors to foster an appreciation of the American Theatre, both musical and dramatic, through fully realized theatrical productions at the professional level. Works of the American Masters (Rodgers and Hammerstein, Lerner and Loewe, Eugene O’Neill, Clifford Odets, Edward Albee, etc.) will be presented to audiences that heretofore had been unexposed. The productions will be fully rehearsed and performed by a professional cast and staff."
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
