I Am My Own Wife and The Pillowman Among Ten Most-Produced Plays
18 Sep 2007
Doug Wright's Pulitzer Prize-winning I Am My Own Wife and Martin McDonagh's The Pillowman are at the head of the "Top Ten Most Produced Plays" list, according to the Theatre Communications Group.
Printed annually in the TCG-produced American Theatre magazine, the list is compiled from shows that played at TCG's more than 400 nationwide member theatres. (Productions of A Christmas Carol and Shakespeare's works — which are in the public domain — are omitted.)
The works most seen (with number of productions logged) in the 2006-07 season at theatres across the country follow:
I Am My Own Wife by Doug Wright (13)
The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh (12)
The Santaland Diaries adapted by Joe Mantello from David Sedaris (11)
Gem of the Ocean by August Wilson (9)

Deaf West’s production of SPRING AWAKENING floored the critics when it premiered in California, prompting the Los Angeles Times to write, "It's hard to enumerate all the ways in which Deaf West's SPRING AWAKENING is so very, very good." Now this unapologetically brilliant new production is coming to New York.
