26 Jan 2014
Inspired 3, a benefit concert for A Place to Bark and Second Chance Rescue NYC, is held Jan. 26 at 7 PM at Stage 72/Triad.
The evening features the talents of Joey Contreras, Bobby Cronin, Jonathan Reid Gealt, McGuire and Simon, Michael Mott, Drew Overcash, Zoe Sarnak and Brad Simmons.
Produced and created by composer/writer Cronin, Inspired 3, according to press notes, "invites you into the minds and hearts of some of today’s exciting musical theatre writers in a casual and intimate setting as they sit behind the piano and, unlike traditional concerts of their material, perform songs by other writers that have inspired their work."
The bi-monthly benefit series Inspired offers a rotating line-up of composer/lyricists and Broadway actors crossing over into the singer/songwriter world.
Stage 72/The Triad is located at 158 W. 72nd Street, 2nd Floor. There is a $15 cover charge and a two-drink minimum; cash only. For reservations visit stage72.com or bobbycronin.com.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
