02 Oct 2012
Ted Seifman Productions will present an industry reading of Douglas Braverman's Damage Control Oct. 15 at The Theatre at Sofia's in Manhattan.
The 1:30 PM reading will feature the talents of Jackie Hoffman, Nancy Opel, Stephen Buntrock, Jeffrey Schecter, Melinda Tanner, Lori Gardner, Steven Hauck, Sean Bell, Danielle Faitelson and Fred Parker, Jr.
Mark Waldrop directs the comedy.
Damage Control, according to press notes, is about "the glut of sex scandals in today’s media...and the spin doctors who try to bury them. When a popular Christian televangelist is caught in a major sex scandal, the Jewish public relations man hired to whitewash the story thinks that the job will be an easy one...until a non-stop barrage of outrageous new details repeatedly threatens his cover up."
The Theatre at Sofia’s is located at 221 West 46th Street.

Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
