Producer Daryl Roth and Harbor Entertainment present a five-week concert engagement of Stars of David, based on Abigail Pogrebin's book, Nov. 13-Dec. 15 at the DR2 Theatre.
Conceived by Aaron Harnick and Pogrebin, the production features direction by Gordon Greenberg. The cast includes Janet Metz, Alan Schmuckler, Aaron Serotsky and Donna Vivino.
Stars of David celebrates the identity of some of the most well-known Jewish personalities, including Marilyn and Alan Bergman, Andy Cohen, Gloria Steinem, Kenneth Cole, Fran Drescher, Edgar Bronfman Sr., Aaron Sorkin, Leonard Nimoy, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Joan Rivers, Tony Kushner, Mike Wallace and Norman Lear.
Their stories have been adapted into song by Marvin Hamlisch, Marilyn and Alan Bergman, Sheldon Harnick, Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater, Jeanine Tesori, Richard Maltby and David Shire, Tom Kitt, Michael Friedman, Amanda Green, Nathan Tysen and Chris Miller, Susan Birkenhead, Gaby Alter and Itamar Moses and Daniel Messé.
