Guys and Dolls Carnegie Hall Concert
Additional casting has been announced for The Carnegie Hall concert presentation of the classic musical
Guys and Dolls, which will be held April 3 at 7:30 PM in the Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage.
Joining the the previously announced two-time Tony winner
Nathan Lane ( , The Producers ) as Nathan Detroit, two-time Tony nominee A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum Patrick Wilson ( Oklahoma!, ) as Sky Masterson, The Full Monty Sierra Boggess ( , The Little Mermaid ) as Sarah Brown and Master Class Megan Mullally ( , Young Frankenstein ) as Miss Adelaide are How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying John Bolton ( A Christmas Story the Musical, ) as Angie the Ox, Curtains Robert Clohessy ("Boardwalk Empire") as Lieutenant Brannigan, Tony nominee Colman Domingo ( , The Scottsboro Boys ) as Rusty Charlie, Passing Strange John Treacy Egan ( The Producers, ) as Nicely-Nicely Johnson, two-time Tony nominee Sister Act Christopher Fitzgerald ( Young Frankenstein, ) as Benny Southstreet, two-time Tony nominee Wicked Jayne Houdyshell ( , Follies ) as General Matilda B. Cartwright and Steve Schirripa ("The Sopranos") as Big Jule. Romeo and Juliet
Hot Box Girls include Jenny LaRoche,
Paloma Garcia-Lee, Samantha Sturm and Katie Webber; crapshooters include Stephen Carrasco, Taurean Everett, Michaeljon Slinger, Justin Urso and Amos Wolff. The vocal ensemble comprises Cree Carrico, Christine DiGiallonardo, Timothy McDevitt, Max Miller and Joseph Torello. Allison Blackwell is also featured as Agatha.
The remaining cast will be announced at a later date.
The concert will be directed by three-time Tony Award-winning director
Jack O'Brien ( , Hairspray , The Nance ) and will feature music direction by Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Rob Fisher ( , Anything Goes , Chicago The Sound of Music at Carnegie Hall and founding music director of Encores!), conducting the Orchestra of St. Luke's.
With music and lyrics by
Frank Loesser, and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, Guys and Dolls "is an adaptation of short stories by Damon Runyon and paints a picture of 1930s New York City, focusing on gamblers Sky Masterson and Nathan Detroit, missionary Sarah Brown, and nightclub dancer Miss Adelaide," press notes state. "The score includes favorites such as a 'A Bushel and a Peck,' 'Luck Be A Lady,' 'Take Back Your Mink,' 'Sit Down You're Rockin' the Boat,' and 'If I Were A Bell.' Guys and Dolls premiered on Broadway in 1950 and was subsequently revived in 1976, 1992, and, most recently, in 2009."
The creative team includes costume consultant
William Ivey Long, lighting designer Alan Adelman, projections designer Wendall K. Harrington and sound designer Nevin Steinberg, with casting by Telsey + Company.
The musical is presented with full orchestra, cast and ensemble, and is a gala benefit, providing support for the artistic and music education programs of Carnegie Hall.
