Jeffery Self to Offer My Life on the Craigslist at New World Stages Nov. 1
17 Oct 2007
Jeffrey Self, who co-produced and wrote the inaugural Mr. Broadway 2007 competition, will present his solo show, My Life on the Craigslist, Nov. 1 at New World Stages.
With a title inspired by the popular Kathy Griffin series "My Life on the D-List," Self, according to press notes, portrays "Jeff Miller, who is sexually frustrated, terribly self-conscious and willing to try anything to spice up his life. After finding the 'Men 4 Men' section, his sordid dreams become reality and he begins to live life On The Craigslist."
Written and performed by Self, My Life on the Craigslist features DJ Drew G. Montalvo spinning music live all evening. The evening is directed and developed by Ryan J. Davis.
My Life on the Craigslist will perform one-night-only at New World Stages, Stage 5 at 10 PM. Tickets are $5 at the door.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
