Jekyll & Hyde Actress Haley Swindal Will Play To Win at 54 Below
07 Apr 2014
Haley Swindal, who was seen on Broadway in Jekyll & Hyde, will offer Play To Win, a solo show about her musical career — which spans from Carnegie Hall to Yankee Stadium — April 8 at 54 Below.
The 9:30 PM concert will feature music direction by Ben Krauss and direction by MAC Award-winning director and writer Barry Kleinbort.
Play to Win, according to press notes, "tells the story of Haley's quirky journey charting her own path in the arts, using all that she learned from the passion and perseverance of her greatest influence: her grandfather, Yankees owner and consummate New Yorker, George Steinbrenner. With a mix of Broadway, folk, rock, and some zany stories along the way, Play to Win blends a little baseball with a lot of life and love."
54 Below is located at 254 West 54th Street. There is a $35-45 cover charge plus a $25 food and beverage minimum. For more information and tickets, call (646) 476-3551 or visit 54Below.com.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
