Jersey Boys Star Jarrod Spector Celebrates New CD at Joe's Pub Oct. 1
01 Oct 2012
Jarrod Spector, who returns to the Broadway company of Jersey Boys Oct. 2, goes it solo at Joe's Pub Oct. 1.
Spector is offering Minor Fall, Major Lift at 9:30 PM. Eric Michael Gillett directs.
The evening celebrates the release of Spector's new studio album; the CD will be available for purchase at the concert.
Spector, a Philadelphia native who has performed the role of Frankie Valli over 1,400 times, is often asked the same question at the stage door: "Is that your real voice?" Minor Fall, Major Lift, according to press notes, "attempts to answer that question and much more in an evening filled with truly great songs and honest, touching, funny moments."
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
