07 Nov 2012
Current and former cast members from the Broadway cast of Jersey Boys, including Dominic Nolfi, Jarrod Spector and John Edwards, will bring The Doo Wop Project to Feinstein's for one-night-only Nov. 12. All proceeds from the concert will benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy.
The 8 PM concert promises "classic street corner Doo Wop" songs, including "Denise" by Randy and The Rainbows, "Morse Code of Love" by The Capris and other hits by The Belmonts, The Platters and The Skyliners. Also featured are Doo Wop versions of pop songs, including the Amy Winehouse remake "Valerie" and Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel."
The concert marks the New York City debut of The Doo Wop Project.
The Doo Wop Project also features Dominic Scaglione Jr. and Dwayne Cooper. Music direction and arrangements are by Sonny Paladino.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
