John Davidson, who appeared in the Off-Broadway production of The Fantasticks last summer as Henry, The Old Actor, rejoins the cast in the role of Bellamy, beginning Dec. 3 at the Snapple Theater Center.

Davidson (State Fair, Oklahoma!, "The Happiest Millionaire," "Hollywood Squares") now steps into the role of the father to Luisa. Read Playbill.com's summer 2012 interview with Davidson.

"Oh my goodness! I am so excited! I love the show so much and the cast is so talented," Davidson said in a statement. "Seriously, if you get a chance to take off and come to NYC, don't miss The Fantasticks! It is the classic of American musical theatre. And I'll be right there in Times Square!"

The cast also features pop singer Aaron Carter as Matt, Ron Bohmer (Ragtime, A Little Night Music) and Addi McDaniel (Little House on the Prairie) as Luisa.

Completing the current cast are Tom Flagg, Heidi Giberson, Matt Leisy, Michael Nostrand, Richard Roland and Dan Sharkey.

The Fantasticks is the world's longest-running musical, having played a record-breaking run of more than 17,000 performances in Greenwich Village. Harvey Schmidt wrote the music, and Tom Jones penned the book and lyrics.

The Fantasticks originally opened at the Sullivan Street Playhouse in May 1960 and closed Jan. 13, 2002. The original company included Wedding Singer star Rita Gardner and the late Jerry Orbach.

Book writer and lyricist Jones staged the revival of The Fantasticks, which has choreography by Janet Watson.

The Fantasticks resumed performances Off-Broadway at the Snapple Theater Center's Jerry Orbach Theater June 16, 2008. The Fantasticks is produced by Pat Flicker Addiss, Al Parinello and Catherine Russell.
