The evening, which is a centenary celebration of the lyrics of Sammy Cahn and the music of Jimmy Van Heusen, was conceived and directed by McDaniel during his first season as artistic director of the O’Neill Theater Center’s Cabaret and Performance Conference.
The New York staging will star the original O’Neill Theater Center cast: Jeff Harnar, Linda Hart, Nicolas King and Jennifer Sheehan.
Come Fly with Me will also feature music direction by Tedd Firth, with Tom Hubbard on bass. The music arrangements were created by Firth and McDaniel.

Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
