Grammy Award winner Judy Collins and Shubert Organization President Robert E. Wankel will be honored with The Town Hall's 2013 Friend of the Arts Awards Oct. 20 at The Princeton Club.
The 4 PM event celebrates the Town Hall's 92nd Annual Gala Celebration. KT Sullivan will open the gala with her latest act Autumn in New York. Cocktails, dinner and the awards presentation will follow.
"Since 1981, The Town Hall has presented its 'Friends of the Arts' Award to individuals in recognition and appreciation of their interest in the development, enrichment and support of the arts," said Town Hall president Tom Wirtshafter in a statement. "We are delighted that our 2013 honorees are the incomparable Judy Collins and Robert E. Wankel, President of the Shubert Organization. Both Bob and Judy have been vibrant, positive creative forces here in New York and throughout the world."
Deaf West’s production of SPRING AWAKENING floored the critics when it premiered in California, prompting the Los Angeles Times to write, "It's hard to enumerate all the ways in which Deaf West's SPRING AWAKENING is so very, very good." Now this unapologetically brilliant new production is coming to New York.
