Judy Kaye, Motown's Valisia LeKae, Star Jones and Cast of Stomp! Will "Go Red" at Macy's Event Jan. 31
30 Jan 2013
In celebration of the 10th National Wear Red Day, Macy's and the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women will host a special ceremony Jan. 31 that will light the Broadway side of the iconic emporium red. Judy Kaye, a Tony Award winner for Broadway's Nice Work If You Can Get It, will be among the attendees.
The event will begin at 4:45 PM and feature appearances from Kaye, Star Jones (the American Heart Association's national volunteer) and heart disease survivors as well as performances from Motown's Valisia LeKae and the cast of Off-Broadway's Stomp!
The event will kick off National Wear Red Day (Feb. 1) and the "Go Red" movement across America, shining a spotlight on heart disease — the number one killer of women.
Macy's Herald Square is located on Broadway between 34th Street and 35th Street. For more information, visit GoRedForWomen.org.
Deaf West’s production of SPRING AWAKENING floored the critics when it premiered in California, prompting the Los Angeles Times to write, "It's hard to enumerate all the ways in which Deaf West's SPRING AWAKENING is so very, very good." Now this unapologetically brilliant new production is coming to New York.
