Justin Huff, Duncan Stewart, Joy Dewing and More Take Part in Free Casting Seminar Jan. 6

Casting directors Justin Huff, Duncan Stewart, Joy Dewing and more take part in The Growing Studio's free casting seminar Jan. 6 at Studio 5 in Alvin Ailey Studios.



Here's how the 7:30-9 PM event is described: "To kick off our Casting Director Workshop we're holding a 90-minute Q & A forum discussing casting, auditioning, and the current theatrical market. As this is a chance for us to give back to our theatrical community, we're offering this seminar completely free of charge! We have over 200 students already registered including Broadway veterans, actors brand new to New York, and even some top-notch agents!"

Casting directors or associates slated to attend the forum include Huff from Telsey + Company, Lindsay Levine from Tara Rubin Casting, Stewart from Duncan Stewart & Co., Adam Caldwell from Cindy Tolan's Office, Jason Styres from Binder Casting, Logan Reid from Carnahan / Roundabout Casting, Stephanie Klapper from Stephanie Klapper Casting and Dewing and Holly Buczek from Joy Dewing Casting.

Additionally, The Growing Studio will offer The Showcase Class Jan. 30-Feb. 20 — geared towards actors interested in gaining representation for straight theatre plays and TV/film and culminating in a showcase for representation Feb. 24.

The four-week class will include agents Nicolosi & Co., Take 3, Talent House, The Mine, Henderson Hogan, DDO, Charles Kerin, Metropolis and more. Students will meet once a week with Douglas Hall.
