11 Oct 2012
Tony Award nominee Kathleen Chalfant (Angels in America, Wit) will star in the U.S. premiere of Felix and Clara Nov. 3 at the Church of St. Luke in the Fields.
Penned by Dutch composer Jacques Bank, Felix and Clara centers on the troubled relationship of Schumann and her son Felix. A chorus will sing the voice of Felix with Chalfant in the role of Clara. The performance will take place at 8 PM.
The evening also promises the world premiere of Four Songs by Frank Brickle.
Cantori New York presents the concert. For tickets, priced $25, visit CantoriNewYork.com. The Church of St. Luke in the Fields is located at 487 Hudson Street.
Deaf West’s production of SPRING AWAKENING floored the critics when it premiered in California, prompting the Los Angeles Times to write, "It's hard to enumerate all the ways in which Deaf West's SPRING AWAKENING is so very, very good." Now this unapologetically brilliant new production is coming to New York.
