12 Oct 2012
Kim Cattrall, who recently completed a run playing Cleopatra in Antony and Cleopatra at Chichester Festival Theatre, is lining up to star as faded movie star Alexandra del Lago in Tennesee Williams's Sweet Bird of Youth at London's Old Vic next year.
According to a report in the UK's Daily Mail, it will be staged as part of Kevin Spacey's final season at the helm of the theatre. It is scheduled to begin performances in June 2013, directed by Marianne Elliott, co-director of War Horse and currently represented at the National Theatre by her production of The Curious Incident of the Dog at Night-time.
Cattrall last appeared in the West End in Noel Coward's Private Lives in a production that subsequently transferred to Broadway.
