LaChanze, Eric Anderson, Tony Yazbeck and More Join Living for Today Benefit Concert at Joe's Pub
23 Dec 2013
Tony Award winner LaChanze, Drama Desk nominee Eric Anderson and Tony Yazbeck are among the stars to join the sixth annual Living for Today benefit concert, which will take place Jan. 19, 2014, at 7 PM at Joe's Pub.
Surprise special guests will be announced from the stage.
Living for Today was created in honor of the late Gilana Alpert by her brother, David Alpert, and is now in its sixth year. Gilana's Fund was established in 2007 following the loss of Alpert at the age of 26. The fund, which has raised over $30,000, "celebrates and encourages educational programming promoting acceptance and understanding of our communities, each other, and ourselves." The 2014 recipients will be announced from the stage that evening.
Tickets are priced $20, $30, $40 and $100 (VIP with premium seating and post-show reception). There is a $12 food and drink minimum; reservations are encouraged. Visit JoesPub.com.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
